Tall, blonde and ambitious...

Emily Benson had always wanted to open her own boutique. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University, she spent 7 years working as an Accessories Merchandiser for prestigious retailers Abercrombie & Fitch, Henri Bendel and Club Monaco. She grew to love beautiful products and visual merchandising. Working with the customers in store was a blast, and she discovered that she had a natural ability to relate to women and help them feel good about shopping and dressing.

Eventually, the pull of entrepreneurship was great enough that it was time for Emily to leave corporate life. In the summer of 2010, her parents said to her, "You don't need to go to graduate school as your next step. You just need a great idea."

Inspired by the food truck revolution happening around her in New York City, and her own love of travel, she started identifying new ideas for her future. The idea of a boutique that traveled sparked her creativity and she decided to open one in her home state, Massachusetts. Her mobile boutique, The Fashion Truck, was the first of it's kind in Boston and upon opening it in 2011, was named a "Best New Idea" by The Boston Globe.

Emily has been interviewed by NPR for a feature on the mobile boutique trend, and The Fashion Truck has received international press, including highlights in US magazines, Lucky and InStyle. After working in corporate and small retail settings, Emily is excited to work with new and established mobile boutique owners to help grow and sustain their businesses. She has consulted and taught over 100 entrepreneurs. Her expertise lies in merchandising, cash flow/markups, marketing, social media, visual display and overall business growth.
